This plan allows for a faster and safer conclusion of the season than normally used, with departures at home and away, with round trips, at home and away. Another new feature at UEFA for these games will be the possibility for each team to make five substitutions, requested in May by FIFA and approved by the International Board, which will be valid for the games that remain to be played in this 2019/2020 season.

Clubs can still register three more players for the competition, and these players must already be registered in the tournament.

As we know, the competition was interrupted in March 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which required a complete change in the format of the event, such as the postponement of the final that was initially planned for the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, in Istanbul, Turkey, being postponed until the following year, as well as Saint Petersburg, which will host the decision in 2022.
