Itinerary

Day 1:
Lisbon Downtown (Baixa)

Embark with us on a fascinating journey through beautiful and cosmopolitan Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in Europe. We will begin our city tour at the emblematic Eduardo VII Park, which offers one of the most iconic views over the city center and the Tagus River. Descending the majestic Avenida da Liberdade, we will immerse ourselves in Lisbon’s downtown (Baixa), exploring streets filled with history, elegant shops, and rich culture.

During this engaging walk, you will have the chance to savor a traditional Ginja — Portugal’s iconic cherry liqueur — while we share insights on the impressive Enlightenment-era reconstruction and the architectural shifts before and after the devastating 1755 earthquake.

Day 2:
Alfama

We will ascend the capital’s historic hills to reach the Nossa Senhora do Monte Viewpoint, the highest vantage point in the city, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas of Lisbon and the Tagus estuary.

Next, we will visit the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé), built in the 12th century on the site of an ancient mosque following the Christian reconquest. Our route continues to the Church of Saint Anthony, built precisely where the patron saint of Lisbon was born. Afterward, we will take a walk through the picturesque district of Alfama, the oldest and most authentic neighborhood in the city, deeply shaped by its labyrinthine alleys and the rich Moorish heritage of its 400-year Muslim history.

Day 3:
Chiado and Bairro Alto

We will explore Bairro Alto, one of Lisbon’s most charismatic neighborhoods, known for its quiet, traditional streets by day that contrast with a vibrant, bohemian nightlife on weekends.

Crossing an invisible city boundary, we will enter Chiado, the sophisticated cultural heart where art and literature intertwine. This elegant hub for intellectuals features prestigious theaters, historic cafes like “A Brasileira,” and some of the oldest active bookstores in the world.

Day 4:
Belém

In Belém, we will travel back to the 16th century to relive the golden age of the Portuguese Age of Discoveries, when explorers charted the world’s oceans. We will make scenic stops by the iconic Jerónimos Monastery, the monumental Discoveries Monument, and the imposing Belém Tower, all proudly standing on the banks of the Tagus River.

To conclude the tour perfectly, we will stop at the original bakery to enjoy the world-famous Pastéis de Belém, discovering the fascinating history of the monastic secret behind this centuries-old recipe.
