Obidos - Cherry Liqueur

A real visit to any place, will never be complete without feeling the gastronomy, confectionery, especially in a country like Portugal, small in size, but great in culinary immensity, in this specific case, we suggest a cherry, a liqueur (alcoholic) drink, made of a wild cherry that can be completed with a chocolate cup.

In Lisbon we will visit the downtown area, rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755 and then stop at one of the most spectacular belvederes in the city, the “Lady of the Hill”, for one of the most superb panoramic views of Lisbon. Bairro Alto neighborhood, known for its crossroads of streets that over the weekend fill with thousands of young people, come to enjoy of what is known as the most bohemian Lisbon neighborhood, next to it we have the Chiado neighborhood where culture and art live hand in hand, or if it is not here that the great majority of theaters in Lisbon are concentrated, as in the oldest bookstores of the modern world.

The Walkborder welcomed us with professionalism, sympathy, education, competence, knowledge, joy and caring.
Through this company, we had the best of Portugal.
We did private tours in the North (Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro, Braga and Guimarães) and in the South (Lisbon, Fatima, Óbidos, Batalha, Nazaré, Sintra, Cascais).
Definitely recommend!
The knowledge and joy of the guides like: Ricardo, Marta and the charming Mr. Joaquim, was of enormous wealth.
We leave here our THANK YOU, Mr. Hugo.
Thank you for your service and availability.

“A Wonderful Day in Lisbon”

We were so lucky to find Hugo on the pier when we arrived in Lisbon on our cruise ship. We rarely book excursions with the cruise line, preferring to do our own thing for the day. Another couple had engaged Hugo and were looking for extra people for the van. The price was good so we said yes and we’re so glad we did.

Hugo toured us in a beautiful 7 seat Mercedes van, with its own free WiFi, through Lisbon for several hours. There was nothing he didn’t know about his beloved country, and he enthusiastically shared it all with us. We laughed, we ate, we looked, we listened and it was by far the best day of our vacation.

Do not hesitate to book his services. You will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to go back to Portugal just to spend another day in Lisbon with Hugo as my guide.

30 May, 2018

As soon as I closed my travel dates to Lisbon, I looked for some private tour companies, as a TripAdvisor indication, came to Walkborders tours. Soon I got in touch and my email was quickly answered by Mr. Hugo. I closed 4 tours with them: Tour Fatima, Nazaré, Batalha and Óbidos; Tour Sintra, Cascais and Estoril, Fado Dinner is Lisbon Tour. We won a courtesy transfer from the Airport that was made by the guide Rodrigo.
One of the things I liked the most about the company was that the tours would be paid during their execution. Something important since other companies ask 50% of advance. Another important fact is that once the tours were closed, Mr. Hugo soon sent a detailed voucher (even 9 months earlier).
My guide was Carlos and what a wonderful person. An excellent job from start to finish. A righteous, educated, cultivated man and became a friend to us. He told us in rich detail the history of each place we spent together. Since my mother has a leg problem, he always helped her walk in the most difficult places to get around.
We made sure he was with us the night of Fados.
Thank you from the heart of Carlos’s affection for me and my mother. We made a friend!
I recommend Walkborders tours for tours in Portugal.
