In 2021, Portugal reached 4th place in the Global Peace Index (GPI)<\/strong>, securing its position in the top 5 safest countries in the world<\/strong>, among 163 states and territories evaluated by the Institute for Economics and Peace<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite dropping one position compared to the previous year, Portugal remains firmly among the best.
