Gastronomic Lisbon Tour

Portugal is undeniably one of the European countries that is most successful when it comes to gastronomy or even sweets as well as Travesseiros, a crunchy puff pastry, with almond and egg jam, just don’t forget to order a coffee to accompany all these delights.

Codfish is a specialty of Mediterranean cuisine, found in Spain, Italy, France and Portugal. They are very popular in Portugal, as well as in Brazil and Angola.
In the center and south of Portugal they are called ‘pastel de cod’ and in the north ‘cod cakes’. In Brazil, it is a very popular snack in Portuguese restaurants and wineries. The first official recipe of the codfish cookbook dates back to 1904, from a book called the Kitchen and Cup Treaty, by Carlos Bandeira de Melo, an officer in the Portuguese army who used the pseudonym Carlos Bento da Maia.

Ours Gastronomic Lisbon Tour is perfect for you who want to get to know Portuguese cuisine a little better, with a small panaoramic of Lisbon with a stop at one of its belvederes and weather permitting a visit to the Belém pastries.

“Supreme One on One Tour”

We booked Walkborder Tours 6 months before our arrival to Portugal. Hugo helped customize a 2 week tour for our family (2 adults & 3 teenagers). We were met at the airport and our tour began with “Rodrigo” who spoke excellent English. He was friendly, funny and provided our family of 5 with more information than one could read in a history book. We hit all the major sites plus Rodrigo provided us with a few hidden gems. During our 2 week period we travelled over 1500 kms in a comfortable, air-conditioned Mercedes van. I would highly recommend all to book this outstanding company for a true view of Portugal’s highlights and much, much more. We are now considering Spain and will definitely book Walkborder Tours (and Rodrigo of course!) to provide us with many more life time memories. A big thank you to Walkborder Tours who made our trip effortless, comfortable, worry free, FUN and MEMORABLE!! 🙂
